How it works
- 1Add a PDF.
- 2Choose the pages and settings.
- 3Click “Convert to Word” and download the DOCX file.
Limitations
- Documents up to 200 MB.
- Password-protected documents can’t be processed — remove the protection in the app where the document was created.
- Bookmarks, attachments, interactive forms and scripts aren’t carried over to the result. Scripts in PDFs are never run.
- PDF text isn’t edited, and no OCR or compression is performed.
- Text, paragraphs, headings, bold and font size are carried over. Tables, columns, inline images and the exact layout aren’t restored — the text flows top to bottom.
- Scanned pages without a text layer can be inserted as images. To turn a scan into text, use text recognition.
- For documents with especially complex layouts, Microsoft Word is a better fit: it can open PDFs on its own.
