Frequently asked questions
Are my files really not uploaded?
Yes. Converting, merging and splitting PDFs happen in your browser, using code loaded from this site. Files, their names and previews are never sent anywhere. The network is used only to sign in, save presets and pay for a subscription.
Why do I need an account?
You need a free account to use the tools — sign up with email or Google. Your files are still processed on your device and never uploaded: the account stores only your email, plan and saved settings.
Why did my file get bigger after converting?
It happens: PNG, for example, stores pixels losslessly, so a photo becomes heavier than the JPG. We don't promise that every file gets smaller, and we always show the original and resulting size.
Does text recognition also work without a server?
Yes. The recognition module is downloaded from our site on first use (about 9 MB) and runs in your browser. English and Russian are supported.
Does Pro process files faster?
No. Speed depends on your device and browser, not on your plan. Pro adds convenience: batch processing, presets and pipelines.
Are there size limits?
Images up to 60 MB, PDFs up to 200 MB. Browsers also limit how large an image can be in memory: about 16 megapixels on iPhone and iPad. These are device limits and are the same on every plan.
What about password-protected PDFs?
If you know the password, remove it with the “Remove PDF password” tool and work with the copy. We never guess or crack passwords. Scripts inside PDFs never run.
